Spring Fever
I have lived in Los Angeles now for over ten years (!) Everyone likes to say that Los Angeles has no seasons - of course, not true. We all know that it poured buckets of rain here for months this winter. The ladies love to wear their wellies around town and pretend that it's freezing. I will admit it, winter here is not the treacherous NYC -slip on the ice- kind or the wet and dreary kind of my Pacific Northwest childhood. The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't matter, somehow, no matter where I am, come May, I get spring fever. Laugh out loud, end of the school year, time to travel, roam the beaches, wear sandals, ride in the car with the top down, FEVER. So, here I am, Los Angeles has been weirdly hot all of a sudden and I am dreaming of other island paradises. Ironically, I was born and raised on one of the most beautiful islands I have been to yet, but I still have these tropical/nautical fantasies deep in me. Martha's Vineyard meets Mustique.

clog craze
I've spent my summer in a lust after clogs. Nothing new - I know. Every hip girl blog and fashionista from Rachel Zoe to Clare Vivier has blogged about clogs. It's making me laugh. So many years ago, I bought my first turquoise clogs from Clogmaster down the street from Kings Road. Now, ten years later I am lusting after Swedish Hasbeens, Magubas, No. 6. It makes me feel Swedish and like I am in a Lukas Tillmans movie.
Now, I have just seen the Fall collection colors for Swedish Hasbeens. Oh no. They have turquoise in high heel. I have just, finally, come full circle.
